- When you arrive at the range, your firearm must either be in a bag, box or holster. Do not arrive at the range with the firearm in your hand. Do not remove your firearm from the holster, bag or box until you have been instructed to do so by the designated Range Officer.
- Do not handle your firearm whilst standing behind anybody else.
- Never load your firearm whilst standing behind anybody else.
- Whenever handling or loading your firearm on the range, always make sure that the firearm is pointing downrange at the backstop wall. This is the area behind the targets.
- You may only fire from the designated firing line. This will be a line which has been determined by the distance to your target from which you will fire. The firing line will normally be at a distance of 5 meters, 10 meters, 15 meters, 20 meters or 25 meters from your target.
- Under no circumstances may you fire if one of the other people on the firing line is in front of you. If another shooter is in front of the firing line you may not fire, even if this person is not directly in your line of fire. The mere fact that they are in front of your muzzle prohibits you from firing at your target.
- You may only begin to fire on the Range Officer’s command.
- Never turn around when you are on the firing line. You must always face forward even if the firearm is still in the holster. Do not step backwards.
- If you drop something while standing on the firing line, you may not pick it up until the firearm has been made safe and is securely in the holster.
- If you have a jam or malfunction while on the firing line that you are unable to rectify yourself, raise your non gun hand [weak hand] above your head. When the Range Officer sees this, he will come to your aid.
